Welcome to Kensington Nursery school

    Our Nursery School in Holland Park, Kensington caters for children aged 2 to 4 years old, in small class sizes to ensure an environment in which  children learn and are stimulated, complemented by the provision of home cooked food and a private garden, children can progress into our Pre-Prep School

    Children can attend 9:00 -12:00, 9:00 -3:00 and they can come for before and after school care.

    We are open from 7am until 7pm. They can attend full time or part time.

    Our Nursery school is in close proximity to Holland Park Kensington, Brook Green. Shepherds Bush, and Hammersmith and includes two classes: Acorns (2-3) and Hedgehogs (3-4). All of our staff follow school-wide topics set out for each term, and we regularly take the children on excursions to learn more about the world around them.

    Assemblies are held every Friday afternoon, concentrating on a different community or health & safety skill each week. Reports are given out each December and June, and parent meetings are held termly.

    Acorns (Children - Ages 2-3)

    The Acorns class is designed to introduce more structured activities into the children’s daily routine.

    Throughout the day the children engage in a range of activities such as

    • Practical Life skills (pouring, transferring, dressing)
    • Music and movement
    • Sports
    • Cooking and messy play
    • Outside play
    • Numbers, colours and letters

    The Acorn class cover all 7 areas of learning with a focus on the three prime areas: Personal, social and emotional development, communication and language and physical development.

    Hedgehogs (Children - Ages  3-4)

    The Hedgehogs class is designed to build on the Acorn class with structured activities and to prepare children for reception.

    Throughout the day the children engage in a range of activities such as:

    • Phonics
    • Numbers
    • Introduction to writing
    • Fine motor skills
    • Expressive arts and design
    • Understanding the World

    The Hedgehog class covers all 7 areas of learning with a focus on preparing each child for reception.

      Admissions Overview

      1. Call 020 7602 9066 to arrange tour1, email info@hpps.co.uk  or fill out our Enquiry Form.
      2. Come for your tour. Complete a School Term Application Form and pay the registration fee (£1252).
      3. If a place is available, an offer will be emailed to you.
      4. To confirm the place you need to pay the £2000 deposit by the date stated in the email.
      5. Once the deposit is received the place will be confirmed (settling and start dates, and hours of attendance) .
      6. Complete Parents' Questionnaire, Form of Undertaking, and required documents, e.g. copy of child’s birth certificate/passport.
      7. Invoice for fees sent, child settles for 1 week and starts.

      1. You can complete the registration form and pay the registration fee before coming for a tour 2. You can pay by bank transfer, debit card/cheque/cash or by credit card (2% fee EU cards, 3% non EU) 3. The deposit is refundable providing 1 clear term’s notice in writing is given. Fees are payable during the notice period. The deposit is not refundable if the place is not subsequently taken up.
