Autumn Walks

Our classes have been making the most of the beautiful local park to teach the children about Autumn.

Our District Class children loved exploring the leaves that had fallen on the ground and looking at all the different colours. The children collected some of the leaves and some twigs to take back to nursery for art work!

Central Class invited some of the parents along to join them on their walk which was a lovely treat! They also used it as an opportunity to learn about traffic and crossing the road safely.

Our Jubilee Class also used their walk to collect leaves and learn about the importance of walking sensibly and safely on the roads. The leaves collected were used for a numeracy activity back in class; the leaves were painted with the numbers 1 to 5 and with 1 to 5 dots which the children then matched. This was to solidify their understanding of matching quantities to their corresponding numbers.
