Sustainable and environmentally friendly travel is very important to us at HPPN. From the very earliest age we teach our babies, toddlers and very young children about various issues on this topic.
We teach the children about traffic lights and road safety both in the classroom and on walks in the local area.
We encourage walking or the use of public transport wherever possible, including when taking children on trips.
We promote local and national initiatives, such as Walk to School Week and The Children’s Traffic Club.
We teach our older children how to use scooters safely.
Since 2014 we have annually achieved Gold status with the Transport for London Stars scheme.
Most children live within walking distance of the nursery, or a short journey on public transport and we discourage use of private vehicles. We have spaces for buggies and scooters on site to enable this for our parents.
We are extremely well serviced by public transport links:
Bus: the nursery is directly adjacent to a bus stop serving routes 49 and C1.
Tube: the nursery is very close (3 minute walk) to Kensington (Olympia) London Underground station. We are also within walking distance of Earl’s Court, Barons Court, West Kensington, Kensington High Street and Shepherd’s Bush stations.
Overground: the nursery is very close (3 minute walk) to Kensington (Olympia) and Shepherd’s Bush stations.
