Ethos & Values

At HPPN we endeavour to inspire young explorers! We do this by tapping into children’s inquisitive nature with a broad and ambitious curriculum. Harry, who is a young explorer, promotes our values;

HARRY:

  • Happy

  • Ambitious

  • Resilient

  • Respectful

  • You!

Curriculum

Our values intend to ensure that we teach kindness, positive and healthy attitudes, high aspirations, and most importantly for the children to be given the opportunity to be their most authentic selves. Our curriculum enables the children to become independent, creative, and ambitious whilst developing friendships, having respect for one another as well as the world around them. We want children to leave HPPN as confident and independent explorers, for them to have a love for learning which will last a lifetime!

The EYFS teaches that children are born ready, able, and eager to learn. At HPPN learning is a journey and the children are well prepared as they move from class to class and then later, to their future schools. We recognise that as Early Years professionals it is important to be in tune with how young children learn best. Every child is unique and therefore every child will enjoy learning in different contexts and will have different learning styles.

We take huge pride in offering children at HPPN a broad and varied curriculum and our specialised classes offer clear evidence of that. We aim to expose children to a wide range of experiences through the following.

  • Karate – Karate Cubs

  • Spanish – Bilingual Beats

  • Dance – The Little Dance Academy

  • Yoga – BEAM Academy

  • Sport – Sporty Minis

Art

HPPN believes art is a powerful tool that goes beyond creating beautiful images. It supports children's cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development, laying the foundation for well-rounded individuals who are confident, creative, and able to navigate the complexities of the world around them.

Music

Incorporating music into the lives of young children is not only enjoyable but also highly beneficial for their overall development. Whether through singing, dancing, playing instruments, or simply listening to a variety of tunes, music has the power to enrich their early years and set the stage for a bright future.

Movement

At HPPN we encourage and support a variety of movement experiences that help children develop physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. By incorporating movement into their daily routines, caregivers and educators contribute to the holistic growth and success of young children.

Language

The importance of language and phonics in the early years of a child's development cannot be overstated. Language and phonics skills play a crucial role in laying the foundation for effective communication, literacy, cognitive development, and academic success.

Mathematics

Mathematics is a fundamental aspect of early childhood education, and its importance in the early years cannot be underestimated. Early exposure to math concepts and experiences lays the groundwork for a strong foundation in mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills, and overall cognitive development

Outside Play

Outdoor play in the early years is incredibly important for a child's holistic development. It offers a wide range of physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and sensory experiences that contribute to their overall well-being and growth.
